Our honorary Glitch State member is really a K9-Human or a human spy disguised as a dog. I smell a conspiracy...Or is it peanut butter?
People often ask us what the story with Daisy is. Tell us about her journey... they ask. This is a hard one because Daisy is not just a dog. Usually, I get a frown at this stage, followed by a huhh??? So let me explain this phenomenon called Daisy.
Daisy the pup
Daisy was a rescue in foster care when we met her. At 5 months old, Wet Nose Animal Rescue Centre
(Pretoria) stepped in and saved her from harsh conditions. She was tied up with chains around the neck and left outside in the sun, icy cold nights and rain for months on end with very little food and water. Add to that regular kicks in the ribs and some verbal abuse, and Daisy was very scared of humans.

Two months after adopting her, she had her first struggles. The vet was concerned about the damage caused to her hip because of the physical abuse she endured as a younger pup, and during a long surgical procedure, Daisy got a plate implanted in her hip attached to her lower leg.

After a few months of physio, some comfort from her teddy, Snookums, and a thumbs-up from the vet, Daisy did her first Sniffari. It is a virtual marathon for dogs and dog owners and Daisy completed 45km in 7 days and won a medal

Daisy the teenager
Daisy has her favourite favourites with strange-ish behaviour like any teenager. From having her nails done while indulging in a peanut butter snack, or watching TV upside down on the couch, or sitting on a step because a girl like her does not sit in the dirt or having her heart broken by the neighbour's doggy who fancies another.... She is ALL teenager
It is quite a struggle for Daisy to sit still, so we can attend to her nails. Luckily, we know of her weakness for peanut butter
Don't watch TV like that, Daisy. You're gonna hurt your eyes... or something
No dirt for Daisy. She's sitting on a step waiting for the pizza guy, who is taking forever to deliver the meaty goodness

And then she fell in love with the neighbour's handsome Doberman, Buster. But like any young love, there are obstacles like the Poodle Buster saw in the park. Daisy was heartbroken for a while.

But she talked it out on the couch with a K9-life coach, and soon she was all smiles and teenage stuff again
